- Assistant Head of Access Services (Assistant Librarian) (1/08 - present)
- I am currently responsible for overseeing Interlibrary Loan. Along with a co-Assistant Head of Access Services, I manage the daily operations of Access Services. I directly supervise 4 FTE. In collaboration with library and campus stakeholders, I develop and implement library policy and procedures. I represent Access Services on library and UC-wide committees. In addition to my work on the Access Services Public Service Desk, I also provide assistance on the Reference Services Desk.
- Assistant Head of Access Services (Assistant Librarian, temporary) (11/06 - 12/07)
- I was responsible for overseeing the three units that comprise Access Services: Circulation, Interlibrary Loan, and Reserves. I directly supervised approximately 8.75 FTE. In collaboration with library and campus stakeholders, I developed and implemented library policy and procedures. I represented Access Services on library and UC-wide committees. In addition to my work on the Access Services Public Service Desk, I also provided assistance on the Reference Services Desk.
- Assistant to the Head of Access Services (Library Assistant IV) (7/06-11/06)
- This was a temporary interim position, designed to guide Access Services through a public service desk merger and to prepare for the addition and renovation of existing library facilities. My primary responsibility was to manage the daily operations of the Access Services units. Additionally I served as the Circulation Unit Head, directly supervising 4 FTE. In collaboration with library and campus stakeholders, I developed and implemented library policy and procedures. I also represented Access Services on library and system-wide committees.
- Interlibrary Loan Assistant (Library Assistant IV) (2/04 - 6/06)
- UCSC's Interlibrary Loan Unit has a team-based structure in which all staff members are functionally cross-trained on Borrowing, Lending, and Document Delivery responsibilities. All team members are responsible for gather and analyzing statistics and reaching consensus on how to use the data to improve services. All team members represent UCSC Interlibrary Loan and/or Access Services on library, consortial, and UC-wide committees.
- Circulation Coordinator (Library Assistant IV) (1/02 - 2/04)
- I directed the daily operations of the Circulation Unit: interpreted and developed policies and procedures, analyzed data on the collections and stacks space, developed and maintained Circulation's web presence, and served on library committees.
- Circulation Student Supervisor (Library Assistant III) (2/01 - 1/02)
- My responsibilities included recruiting, hiring, and scheduling Circulation Student Assistants. I evaluated student assistant performance, assigned and planned work, implemented and maintained a training program, performed all administrative tasks related to student management, and oversaw all disciplinary procedures.
- Circulation Student Trainer (Library Assistant III) (9/00 - 2/01)
- I developed, implemented, and evaluated the training of Circulation Student Assistants. I coordinated staff participation in student training efforts. I also provided service at the Circulation Desk.
- Stacks Training Assistant (Library Assistant III) ( 11/99 - 9/00)
- I supervised and trained Stacks Student Assistants, participated in the recruitment of student assistants, and designed and implemented a student training program.
- Student Assistant (3/97 - 11/99)
- As a student assistant I was responsible for providing public service and assisting with Stacks maintenance.
